Job description

The electrical QC Technician will ensure that the materials and work meet the quality standards established on a project. Technicians are responsible for verifying compliance with specifications, identifying non-conformance work, witnessing and documentation of testing. The QC Technicians are responsible for work photos that ensure progress and completion of work.

DUTIES & SCOPE:

  • Enforce compliance with specifications and standards during the installation phase.
  • Daily inspections of activities perform in the field.
  • Write reports for constraints, issues and Non-Conformance work.
  • Communicate and collaborate with QC Lead and QC Superintendent to ensure work follows project requirements.
  • QC technicians will witness, and complete documentation related to testing and will close items in the Commissioning Platform as inspections are completed.
  • Support construction team during FTE phase.
  • Ensure and enforce the company EHS policies and procedures during the QC process.
  • Strong attention to details to ensure accurate testing, inspection and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years in the electrical construction field
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction environment performing QC/QA/CX
  • QEW preferred
  • Knowledge in Electrical and QC/QA/CX standards and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with electrical testing procedures and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with relevant software, such as MS Office, Autodesk Construction Cloud Build, Egnyte, CX Alloy, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork attitude
  • Clean OMV, drug test results, and background check.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves always), respirator when required.
  • Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime, and night shifts as required.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
