Job description

SUMMARY: Performs duties as assigned by the QC Manager involving the counting, quality control inspecting, and receiving of merchandise of incoming purchase orders by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Inspect incoming orders to ensure quality of merchandise meets established standards.
  • Determine if incoming orders match criteria as stated on the purchase order, and if a problem exists, inform the QC Manager.
  • Identify condition of order (e.g., how packed and how ticketed) and based on that information receive units into the Warehouse Management System by scanning a case label for each case on the order.
  • Attach scanned labels to corresponding cases.
  • Fill out pertinent information on an identifying form (p.o.#, # of cases, # of units in each case, ticketing status) for each pallet scanned and attach to the respective pallet.
  • Resolve any discrepancies that might exist between quantities received and quantity stated on the vendor ASN.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the QC Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The responsibilities listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. An employee in this position must be able to write legibly, be computer literate, be able to evaluate garments and materials for defects etc, and understand the basics of counting and accounting processes. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and understand documents such as general correspondence, purchase orders and office procedures/memos. Ability to speak effectively with employees of the company.
