Quality Team Lead

JOB PURPOSE

The Quality Control Team Lead will work closely with the Quality Control Manager to ensure the consistent manufacturing of tight tolerance parts for our customers, implement quality system changes, emphasize in-process inspection to reduce rework, and maintain accurate and consistent production.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily activities for final and in-process inspections of products for Manufacturing.
  • Assist in implementing and improving the quality system, with an emphasis on in-process inspections; write process documents, assign tasks, and perform initial and remedial training for Quality Control Technicians.
  • Assist in managing the calibration program for all hand measuring tools and precision measurement devices.
  • Confirm fallout from inspections of tight tolerance parts for the Material Review Board; ensure nonconforming materials documentation is accurate and supporting prints/engineering drawings are present for referral during MRB process.
  • Ensure necessary hand measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) are in stock for Quality Control Technicians to perform their duties, including new products coming in for inspection.
  • Resolve discrepancies or changes needed to in-process and final inspection plans as they arise, escalating complex issues to the Quality Control Manager.
  • Must comply with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Communicate with the oncoming shift any vital information such as priorities, new failures found, or other tasks to prevent bottlenecks.
  • Adhere to guidelines and procedures to ensure the safe handling, removal, and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of Quality Control experience in a precision CNC machining environment preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent Communication/Organizational Skills
  • Must be willing to learn, adapt, and be flexible.
  • Possess the ability to implement and manage change.
  • Strong problem solving/ conflict resolution skills.
  • Must have strong computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be a US citizen subject to ITAR requirements.
  • Be personally energetic, positive, and be able to think laterally in order to follow through with reasoned decision making.

WORKING CONDITIONS

They will be working in a climate control environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Working conditions include but are not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting requirements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or less regularly. Cleaning material and chemicals used regularly.
