Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating and meeting customer needs in 12 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.
We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.
Rogers Group is currently seeking a Quality Control supporting Carolina SMA, Greer, SC Upstate, SC. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager. The successful candidate will have strong work ethic, intuitive problem- solving skills and drive to meet the organization's needs.
Job Details:
  • Wages start at $21.00, Starting wage will be higher with verifiable experience.

  • Fulltime/Permanent

  • Weekend work may be required and overtime

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lift 50lbs frequently

  • Basic Repair of testing equipment

  • Compute stockpile quantities

  • Perform Field Test

  • Promote team atmosphere at location and across the division

  • Work with the sales team as needed

  • May be called upon at the discretion of Managers to perform other duties

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required

  • Driver's License with Clean MVR Required

  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

  • Skilled in operating quality control lab equipment and testing materials.

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications or similar.

  • Ability to problem-solve and demonstrate critical thinking.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously throughout the day.

  • Basic mechanical/repair skills.

  • Basic math and computing/technology skills.

  • Flexible schedule (split/ possible Saturday shifts).

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; be able to work on a team.

  • Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.

  • Operate testing equipment and company vehicles in a responsible and safe manner.

  • Perform daily housekeeping operations and maintain a clean lab environment.
