About the Role
Satterfield Construction Company is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team. The QC Tech is responsible for testing materials, monitoring production quality, and ensuring asphalt meets project and state specifications. This role is essential in delivering safe, durable, and high-quality roads for our communities.
What You'll Do
  • Perform routine lab and field testing of asphalt mixes and materials
  • Monitor plant production and jobsite quality to meet SCDOT and project requirements
  • Collect and review asphalt samples, including on-site coring for density results
  • Maintain accurate QC reports, records, and certifications
  • Work closely with plant crews, inspectors, and supervisors to resolve quality issues
  • Support company safety standards and wear required PPE at all times
What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of asphalt QC/field testing experience (preferred)
  • Current HMA Level 1 and Asphalt Roadway Technician certifications (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
