Quality Control (QC) Supervisor

Pay: $32.08 - $38.81/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate daily QC sampling and laboratory activities, ensuring work is prioritized efficiently and in accordance with business needs
  • Monitor product release and associated turn-around-times (TAT)
  • QC sample and batch dispositioning
  • Participate in and oversee lab investigations and root cause analysis
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, calibration verification, and troubleshooting activities for laboratory instruments
  • Oversee environmental monitoring and QC-related validation activities
  • Assist with internal, third party, and regulatory audits
  • Manage schedules, timesheets, performance evaluation, and accident investigations of QC staff
  • Provide positive reinforcement, recognition, constructive criticism, and disciplinary actions as appropriate, and participate in QC staff hiring process as needed
  • Track and compile daily output to contribute to monthly departmental key performance indicators (KPIs)

 

What Helps You Succeed

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or relevant science discipline; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint with emphasis on Excel (data entry, trending, and analysis)
  • Effective communication in the English language, both written and verbal
  • Prior experience operating and maintaining lab equipment and instrumentation in an analytical laboratory setting is an asset
  • Prior experience in a pharmaceutical, natural health, or food product manufacturing environment an asset
