Primary Function

Plans, directs, and maintains a quality system to assure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels. Supervises the work and procedures relating to purchased material, in-process material, and finished material to assure quality standards are achieved.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supervision of Quality Technicians/Analysts, setting daily priorities, and assisting with the coordination with other departments.
  • Implements and enforces a quality production program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards.
  • Compiles and maintains inspection reports and records, including investigative and corrective action.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining standards and procedures for inspection, testing and evaluation.
  • Maintains and evaluates the accuracy and precision of production and testing equipment.
  • Assists in preparation for audits.
  • Assists in the development of sample submissions of new products and engineering changes.
  • Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel.
  • Supervises and directs subordinates by coordinating work flow, maintaining discipline, and resolving work team problems.
  • Work with production supervisors to coordinate activities across departments.
  • Identifies and analyzes faulty work/products and advises corrective measures to production supervisors.
  • Performs other activities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, technical or Quality Related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality.
  • 2-3 years of Supervisory/Leadership experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • ASQ - Certified Quality Technician or Engineer preferred.
  • Experience in ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience with SAP-QM module preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Strong abilities in mathematics, specifically statistical analysis and precision measurement.
  • Understanding of process capability studies.
  • Demonstrated capability in quality assurance practices.
  • Knowledge of inspection and quality control methods and equipment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with a variety of measurement instruments.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong communication skills to present information to managers, customers, and the general public.
