Summary of the Position

Monitor product quality by testing and inspecting  manufactured and purchased products at various stages of the production process; compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products to Harris Products Group standards.

  • Monitor AQL inspection of products received from Poland
  • Calibration logs and schedules
  • Calibration of equipment in respective work areas
  • Maintain rework locations in Assembly/Kit Packing Areas
  • Work safely and support safety within their team across the organization

  • Regulator Assembly First Pass Yield metrics

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Product/Process Inspections – 60%

  • Performs comprehensive quality assessments of product in assembly, machining and kit packing processes.
  • Monitors and records quality checks throughout the assembly and kit packing processes.
  • Completes product assessments in a timely manner to ensure a smooth flow of material through the assembly and kit packing processes and into finished goods.
  • Remains current with understanding of the various manufacturing processes in assembly and kit packing and standard operating procedures.

Quality Support Processes – 25%

  • Maintains quality records in assembly and kit packing areas.
  • Assists operators in making decisions pertaining to quality and offers guidance related to assembly and kit packing issues that affect quality.
  • Maintains calibration databases and hard files and performs calibration of equipment in respective work areas.

 

Team Based Problem Solving/Projects – 10%

  • Participates on cross-functional teams to identify root causes of non-conformances.
  • Works with plant personnel, training them to recognize acceptable versus unacceptable physical characteristics of in- process and finished material according to specifications and customer requirements.
  • Reviews weekly production schedule in order to expedite inspection of products when necessary.
  • Participate in 6S initiatives.

Safety  --  5%

  • Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization – as required.
  • Participates in safety training and demonstrates a high regard for safety at all times.
  • Wears personal protective equipment as required by plant safety regulations.
Education and/or Experience

Required –

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of related manufacturing experience, product knowledge and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a Quality position.
  • Proficient computer skills; effective written and verbal communication; ability to simultaneously execute multiple assignments.
  • Knowledge and experience in calibration of process measuring equipment.

Preferred –

  • Six Sigma experience
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
