Job description

Position Summary


The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on role that works closely with production teams to identify, document, and resolve quality issues while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and engineering requirements.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain complete quality records.
  • Process and manage quality documentation, including process tags, rework tags, and nonconforming material reports.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to investigate quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct routine audits of manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality control procedures and work instructions.
  • Utilize standard mechanical and electrical inspection equipment, functional gauges, test rigs, and measurement instruments.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable standards, including AS9100 and AS9120.
  • Review and interpret Material Test Reports, Inspection Data Results, and Certificates of Conformance/Performance.
  • Perform regular floor presence and inspections; this role is not limited to desk work.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in quality control or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and weight scales.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Teams, for daily documentation and communication.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
