Quality Inspectors examine products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications. Removes or discards all products and equipment that fail to meet specifications. As well as adheres to manufacturing/quality processes including testing, quality and documenting to ensure product meets specified criteria contained in the work orders/specifications/IL form. Openings on 1st and 2nd shift.

Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Performs incoming, in-process and final inspections at random to access product quality.
  • Inspect and test materials and/or product manufactured by measuring product dimensions, examining functionality, and comparing the results to the quality expectations.
  • Performs quality inspections using a variety of measurement devices, fixtures and equipment including, but not limited to: Tape Measure, Pin Gages, Laser Micrometers, Magnifiers and Vision Systems.
  • Follows good documentation practices (GDP) for recording of all inspection results and activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Must possess the ability to inspect product using inspection tools.
  • Must be able to perform job requirements with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be proficient in reading and comprehension of drawings, specifications, procedures, manuals and work instructions, applying mathematical concepts, and performing measurement conversions.
  • Must be comfortable working in a team environment, have strong communication skills, be self-motivated, and have strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven proficiency with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and/or FDA/cGMP quality system requirements as well as good documentation practices (GDP).
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Inspector Certification or similar.
  • 3-5 years of quality control and/or laboratory experience, preferable in a manufacturing and/or medical
  • organization.
  • Six Sigma green belt certification and/or experience with continuous improvement tools and techniques.
Physical Requirements: (with or without the aid of mechanical) The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to input, handle or feel, use of arms to reach, able to communicate.
  • Must possess fine hand motor skills to handle small manufacturing tools, QC tools and fine product. Ability to raise arms above shoulder height.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to stand/walk for majority of an 8-hour work shift and lift/push/pull up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout work shift.
  • Must be able to use hand tools including but not limited to scissors, pliers, razor blades, wire snips.
  • Works on a manufacturing floor. Periodically overtime will be required including weekends.
  • Cross training.
  • Some travel, including between PPC owned properties is required.
