ANDRITZ HYDRO USA operates in a niche market that provides overhaul and rehabilitation to hydro power plants. We are looking for a strong QC Professional with project experience in hydro plant or construction site focused quality experience. This is not a corporate quality manager role. This role is 100% construction site based, with some possible non-frequent visits to the office for training or meeting. Sites are located everywhere across United Sates. We need a hands-on individual ready to do the work required to meet customer, industry, and Andritz quality standards. Duties:
Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring fulfilment of Quality requirements on site according to the contract, Andritz Quality processes and installation & commissioning manuals.
  • Establishes/Maintains relationships with customer site representatives on Quality topics.
  • Monitors performance of Quality system on site
  • Represents Andritz interests on site with full-time on-site presence

Main Tasks:
Look-ahead planning
  • Review upcoming work to ensure all inspections are planned with the right resources and tools to ensure effective inspections and progress.
  • Support improvement of Installation & Commissioning manuals by providing feedback to documents owners.
  • Prepares Notice of Inspections daily and three week look ahead.

Day-to-day quality tasks
  • Preparation and coordination of installation quality documentation.
  • Support installation supervisors to ensure work is performed in accordance with installation manuals
  • Ensures implementation of management system documentation
  • Coordinates and performs inspections and tests at site
  • Site Non-Conformities reporting, follow-up, and closure.
  • Facilitate the decision making process for corrective actions with project team.
  • Prepares and consolidates site quality records.
  • Audits conformity of welders' and NDT inspectors' qualifications.
  • Document open package inspections at site with Andritz inventory database and tracking system.
  • Develop and update inspection quality document tracking file
  • Create the final quality documentation
  • Manage control of drawings and installation manuals revisions on site
  • Maintain quality files as well as the required paper copies on site
  • Control calibration of measuring equipment
  • Generate/Update punch list items tracking file as required
  • Manage the handling/storing of contract material located at site

Qualifications:
  • A BS degree in engineering (preferably in mechanical, electrical or material science)
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the hydropower industry or equivalent experience in an industrial construction environment.
  • NDT/NDE related technical experience

OR
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of experience in the hydropower industry preferred or an equivalent education and experience in an industrial construction or manufacturing environment.
  • CWI or possess the education and experience required to qualify for certification and a working knowledge of ASME and AWS Codes.
  • NDT/NDE related technical experience and/or qualified to pass Level 2 certification in RT, UT, PT, and/or MT is a plus.
  • Laser metrology experience with machined parts is a plus.
  • Ability and experience with typical equipment, such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, oscilloscopes, component testers and the like.
  • MS office suite compatible for correspondence and reporting.
