Job description

Our Quality Control Inspector position performs inspections or testing to ensure conformity with the type design engineering data. They document their results, identify defects and report when instances of poor quality items increase. Quality Control Inspectors safely discard or destroy items that don't meet the necessary specifications to prevent unsatisfactory inventory from reaching production. You'll play a key role in ensuring that all products meet our established requirements for reliability and workmanship, as well as other quality control program standards. The ideal candidate has keen attention to detail, and is proficient in using precision dimensional inspection equipment including, but not limited to, calipers and micrometers.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
  • Perform Quality Control inspections & testing per inspection work instructions in an Aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Retrieval and interpretation of technical documents
  • Interpret technical documents and develop inspection work instructions
  • Perform First Article Inspections per AS9102
  • Complete required documentation and enter into ERP system, create inspection reports as needed
  • Communicate technical requirements to shop personnel
  • Assign traceability to incoming raw material, quarantine, and scrap components
  • Prioritize workflow
  • Maintain measuring equipment
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform tasks as needed per individual jobs
  • Maintain a clean work environment, and comply with safety requirements

Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:
  • Ability to work evening shift.
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Engineering drawings
  • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing operations
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections using standard precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gage blocks
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and/or web based software.
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently, but function as a team player

Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5
  • Two or four year degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of CAD software including Catia, or Onshape.
  • Two or more years of experience in Quality Control in Aerospace
  • Certification from American Society for Quality (ASQ)
  • Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma
  • Experience in at least one form of non-destructive inspections such as Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as AS9100
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and Aerospace conformity requirements
  • Experienced interfacing with Business Enterprise Systems such as Plex
  • Experience with Inspection software such as InspectionXpert, NetInspect, or equivalent reporting software
  • Experience working with a manufacturing team to develop new processes

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment using OSHA-required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • This job involves physical demands such as indoor/outdoor activities, walking, standing, climbing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating equipment safely. It may include exposure to variable noise levels, fumes, and hazardous chemicals, requiring personal protective equipment.
  • Duties may also include standard office work, occasional travel, and working with small parts, necessitating good hand-eye coordination. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment using OSHA required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
