Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Kent, OH. This role is ideal for a quality-focused manufacturing professional with experience inspecting incoming materials, packaging components, and finished products in a fast-paced production environment.
As a Quality Control Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring materials meet established quality standards, receiving processes are accurate, and production teams have the information and inventory support they need to operate efficiently. This position offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team, supportive leadership, and a stable manufacturing environment where accuracy, communication, and continuous improvement are valued.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on inspection work, problem-solving, and partnering across production, purchasing, receiving, and supplier teams to help maintain product quality and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
- Inspect raw materials, packaging components, and finished products for defects, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
- Document inspection results, maintain accurate quality records, and support traceability requirements.
- Support receiving, inventory accuracy, and material control processes within the manufacturing operation.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns, shipment discrepancies, and nonconforming materials.
- Assist with corrective actions, audits, process improvements, and ongoing quality initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Inspect incoming materials, packaging components, and finished products for quality and compliance.
- Verify receiving documentation, purchase orders, and shipment accuracy.
- Use precision measuring instruments to complete inspections and support quality decisions.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and support corrective action activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant quality control, receiving, inventory, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T symbols.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP or inventory systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across production, purchasing, suppliers, and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food and beverage production or a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience supporting audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory control processes, and receiving workflows.
