The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry is looking for a QA/QC Manager to join our Data Center Innovations group in Pasco, WA. The QA-QC Manager - Field Installation leads and standardizes quality assurance and quality control for field installation activities across DCI data center projects. This role verifies mechanical and related systems are installed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, McKinstry standards, and best practices, with real-time verification and documentation captured in CxAlloy and supporting digital tools. Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Lead QAQC execution for mechanical piping, HVAC, equipment installation, and related systems.

  • Embed QAQC activities into daily and weekly field workflows without disrupting production.

  • Own setup and execution of QAQC checklists, assets, locations, and issues within CxAlloy.

  • Ensure consistent photo documentation, shop drawing markups, and real-time issue tracking; proactively identify and resolve installation issues prior to commissioning and punch.

  • Coordinate QAQC activities with Superintendents, Foremen, PMs, vendors, subcontractors, Project Controls, and Commissioning; standardize processes and capture lessons learned across DCI projects.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Strong background in mechanical construction field installation.

  • 5 years of relevant construction experience with at least 2 years experience in QA/QC.  Experience leading QAQC on large, complex construction projects (data centers preferred).

  • Hands-on experience with CxAlloy or similar digital QAQC / commissioning platforms.

  • Ability to work directly with field crews and lead quality discussions effectively.

  • Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills (including photo documentation, shop drawing markups, and issue tracking).

Preferred:

  • Prior leadership or management experience, with experience in coaching, feedback, employee development and performance management.

The pay range for this position is $89,010 - $151,300 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
