Job description

QC CIT Analyst

PPG Industries, Inc. seeks a QC CIT Analyst in Cleveland, OH responsible for leading quality assurance and control activities to support the development of chemical coatings products. Specific duties include: investigating and analyzing abnormal batches and remakes of chemical coatings products, including producing one-shot lab batches and identifying high probable failures with specific RM lots through quality control chemical tests; establishing metrics for chemical coatings products for data analyses of batch investigations and tests; performing statistical and chemical analyses regarding the quality of the products; and providing cross-functional support for quality control during product development, including verification check-mixes and training QC chemist technicians.

Must have a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry plus two years of experience in a related position. Experience must include two years with each of the following: preparing and applying liquid coating products utilizing spectrophotometers, product development and quality control by performing paint sample tests, operating lab equipment, and troubleshooting issues; maintaining laboratory instruments; and preparing test solutions and compounds pre reagents to conduct tests. Must have any experience with or knowledge of panel testing techniques, GMP/GLP requirements, safety requirements, test methods, and SOPs; QC tool data lookup or similar; continuous improvement techniques including formula optimization process and problem solving process; and continuous improvement events including Kaizen workshops.
