Job description

Overview

The Hourly Team Leaderis responsible forassistingthe Department Supervisor in running the production line or group. Team Leaders are the subject matter experts for their productionarea,they train new Team Members, evaluate and resolve line stoppage issues, foster teamwork, provide daily production reports,assistwith quality audits, and promote Team Member safety.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure team membersmeetingthe expected level of quality. 
  • Understands and ensures team members are following the work Instruction and procedures. 
  • Maintains good housekeeping to 5S standards. 
  • Follow Mobis handbook policies. 
  • Ability to give directions and lead team members. 
  • Works well with others. 
  • Able to work overtime with little or no notice. 
  • Reporting daily results to Supervisor. 
  • Reports any unsafe concerns toSupervisor. 
  • Able to followinstructiongiven to them. 
  • Utilizesall tools available and/or necessary to perform their job. 
  • Able to suggest improvements and ideas for the department. 
  • Able to complete tasks in the allotted time. 
  • Comply withall safety rules and guidance, as well as report all recognized hazards. 
  • Prompt, regular, predictable attendance 
  • Physical presence at work during all scheduled work hours 
  • Overtime and weekend work asrequired 
  • Required to work with, handle, store, or otherwise manage hazardous materials, and mustcomply withall applicable regulationsestablishedby the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). 
  • Responsibilities include ensuring safe and compliant management of hazardous materialsin accordance withstate and federal regulatory requirements. 
  • May berequiredtoparticipatein training for handling of hazardous materials. 
  • All other job duties as assigned. 

AUTHORITY & SCOPE 

This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Ability to think logically and toanticipateproblems in advance 
  • Ability to developviablebusiness solutions to routine quality issues 

  

Preferred Education & Experience: 

  • One plus years of automotive manufacturing experience 
  • One plus years in training and managing quality line workers 

Working Conditions:  

  • Eagerness to be trained for future leadership roles 
  • Works in a manufacturing shop floor environment 
  • Stands for extended periods of time 
  • Movesquickly to evaluate and resolve quality related issues or concerns 
  • Willing to work overtime to support the linein the event ofproduction or attendance issues
