Job description

Atlas Roofing Shingles and Underlayment is seeking a Quality Technician for Clinton, IA.
Quality Technician Primary Responsibilities
  • Performs line audits to assess product performance (shingles & felt)
  • Performs warehouse audits to assess finished goods quality
  • Assists in the training of production employees to perform quality testing
  • Inputs data related into spreadsheets, documents, and production databases, as required
  • Communicates with supervision and production employees as to quality issues during production process
  • Contains and tags any questionable material and communicates to Quality Manager and Production Manager the issue and quantities on hold
  • Uses and maintains all lab equipment
  • Maintains all color standards and ensures operator paperwork is available at color change; this includes both the sample board in QC and the slate sample cups
  • Assists in the design and implementation of new products
  • Performs testing on all Scotchguard products for compliance
  • Assists with completing competitive audits
  • Transports injured employees to the emergency room, as needed

Quality Technician Experience
  • Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment

Quality Technician Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic MS Office Suite, Email, and other computer software
  • Ability to create, maintain, and manipulate data in spreadsheets
