Job description

  1. Assists physicians in invasive and non invasive procedures using proper sterile technique.
  2. Obtains and reviews documentation before performing exam. ie Physician Prescription, Consent Form, and Contrast Media Questionnaire.
  3. QC’s all exams in RISynergy as the exam is completed to insure accurate historical report data.
  4. Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis to insure the highest quality of diagnostic images while insuring that patients and co-workers are protected against needless radiation exposure.
  5. Responsible for the thorough knowledge of Radiographic policies, procedures, equipment and supplies as well as the operation of PACS, RIS, HIS programs.
  6. Takes an active part in patient education by explaining the examination process.
  7. Promotes positive patient relations in a caring environment by making patients comfortable and at ease during procedures.
  8. Transfers and positions patients using extreme care, patience and proper body mechanics.
  9. Identifies patients using the hospitals double identification policy.
  10. Responds to back-up calls as needed within 30 minutes.
