Job description

Overview
The Pictsweet Company is looking for a quality assurance technician to join our vegetable processing facility in Bells, TN. This position operates on a swing shift. This role requires candidates to rotate working in two different departments, each with varying start and end times.

Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to, the following:
  • Study grade standards and apply to products assigned IQF, and repack items.
  • Read and understand "Net Weight Control Book."
  • Check package weights, calculate average weights, accumulative averages, ranges and graph results.
  • Product Ingredients - monitor product ratios, by percentage, and product grades in all blended products.
  • Package Check - learn how to obtain and understand all package, case, and code information for all labels and check and record information on form.
  • Obtain and Record product temperatures.
  • Supply lead person or forklift drivers with product name, all coding information, LSI code, and grade (Freshpack only).
  • Monitor and record foreign material findings from your assigned lines.
  • Communicate with foreign material monitors concerning any pertinent findings.
  • Learn how to react to "non-standard" situations.
  • Communicate all pertinent information to Manager /or Supervision.

Qualifications
Experience:
  • Experience in food quality control or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMP and statistical analysis preferred.

Cognitive & Psychological:
  • Must be able to read and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations including fractions and decimals.

Physical:
  • Must be able to work in cold (35-40 degrees) or hot environment for extended period.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to use both hands.

Other:
  • Must be willing to work extended hours as needed (including weekends and holidays).
