As Central Stone Company expands our already impressive footprint in the St. Louis area, our new Asphalt Division is hiring!

The Asphalt Quality Control Manager is a leader responsible for establishing quality standards, managing quality assurance processes, and ensuring products meet regulatory and customer requirements. The Quality Control Manager will oversee and manage all Quality Control technicians and asphalt associated activities within the region. This will include HMA production at multiple plants around the St. Louis market.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and strategies to meet company, industry, and city/state/federal regulatory standards.
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of quality control professionals, including hiring and setting performance objectives.
  • Develop hot mix asphalt (HMA) mix designs for state and commercial projects that balance cost-effectiveness, plant efficiency, and high quality.
  • Conduct regular site and laboratory audits and inspections to ensure quality standards and policies are being followed.
  • Support sales and operations teams, as-needed, with customer questions and complaints and use the feedback to improve products and processes.
  • Stay current with proposed and upcoming changes to material specifications and understand how it may affect the company.
  • Maintain and document accurate timely records of testing results.
  • Analyze test data and use corrective action to prevent non-conforming products.
  • Must be able to work with other members of the team and communicate effectively and efficiently with Quality Control Technicians and Plant Operators.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in asphalt production and quality control field required.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working with Missouri DOT standards and specifications preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Three to five years prior experience leading and developing people.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and multiple priorities efficiently, while working under pressure of changing deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills, including use of MS Office products
  • Must pass a drug screen, background check, and applicable physical/functional capacity tests.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
