We work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment on various transportation projects for federal, state, local, and private clients. Our ideal candidate will possess a technical and project management experience for structural transportation projects (Bridges/Culverts). Responsibilities:

  • Project management and engineering, from conception to completion, including proposal preparation, design and construction documents, and construction administration under the guidance of senior managers
  • Guide staff in the preparation of calculations and design documents including the assembly of plans and specifications for public advertisement and bidding
  • Ability to work in a team environment and actively assist, mentor, and support developing personnel
  • Guide staff in the development of contract specifications and preparation of contract bid documents, including construction cost estimates.
  • Guide staff in the selection of design criteria using relevant codes and standards
  • Perform and review calculations using various software and/or hand calculations
  • Communicate effectively and proactively address client queries
  • Provide Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for deliverables
  • Actively participating in expanding our engineering operations and boosting our market reach into other structure projects in Region 4
  • Support targeted and personalized outreach efforts for local and regional clients while retaining and improving current client relationships
  • Participation as a GPI representative within local Engineering Organizations and at local conferences

Qualifications:

  • BS Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • New York State Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • 10+ years bridge engineering design and project management experience
  • Shall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate leadership skills with a desire for growth.
  • Good writing and strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively to orchestrate a team to complete projects on time and in budget.
  • Must have preliminary and final design and plan production experience per local, County and NYSDOT standards.
  • Experience and familiarity with computer drafting and structural analysis software
  • A sound knowledge of AASHTO and NYSDOT Standard Specifications
  • Knowledge of NYSDOT's Locally Administered Federal Aid project process.
  • Bridge load rating experience is an additional benefit
