About the Role:
DES Micro Precision Group LLC is looking for a skilled CMM Inspector to join our precision manufacturing team in Paterson, NJ. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment. If you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for precision, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
  • Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect machined components and assemblies
  • Interpret and verify parts against engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and customer specifications
  • Perform dimensional inspection and document measurement results with accuracy and thoroughness
  • Identify non-conforming parts and communicate findings to production and engineering teams
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure CMM equipment is properly maintained
  • Support first article inspections (FAI) and in-process quality checks
  • Collaborate with machinists and quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
  • Proven experience operating CMM equipment (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar software preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with hand measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection documentation practices
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines in a team environment
