Job Title: Deli Clerk (Part Time)

Reports To: Deli Manager

Are you passionate about food service and enjoy providing customers (we call them guests!) with delicious meal options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? We are seeking a Deli Clerk to join our team in our retail grocery store environment, where you'll play a crucial role in food preparation and guest service.

At Festival Foods, we're all about making mealtime easier and more enjoyable for our guests. Whether they're grabbing a quick lunch, a side dish, a fast food option for dinner, or feeding a crowd, our deli has them covered.

What You'll Do:

As a Deli Clerk at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide Helpful Service: Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do.  Whether it's a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you'll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day. 
  • Guest Assistance: Help guests locate items on or off the sales floor and professionally answer the Deli Department telephone.
  • Order Fulfillment: Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests with attention to detail and quality.
  • Customer Service: Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly using the boomerang principle to ensure a positive experience.
  • Quality Control: Inspect, rotate, maintain proper temperatures, and replenish all deli products on display to ensure high standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels in the deli storage, including containers, lids, spoons, tags, and more.
  • Food Safety: Lead by example in maintaining food safety logs and adhering to all safety standards.
  • Efficiency: Ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Support the Team: Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Full range of upper body motion.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
