Job description

Stoughton Trailers is a trusted, industry-leading manufacturer with strong Wisconsin roots and a commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence. Our manufacturing success depends on having the right materials in the right place at the right time.
Position Details:
Schedule: Monday-Thursday from 5:30 AM-4:00 PM & Monday-Thursday from 4:30 PM-3:00 AM
Shift: 1st and 2nd
Overtime: Required as business needs
What You'll Do -
You will support daily production operations by receiving, storing, moving, and delivering materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and following safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Control & Material Handling:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure production areas are supplied with required materials
  • Verify incoming material shipments for accuracy and completeness
  • Inspect materials, identify defects, and report quality concerns
  • Receive, label, and store materials in designated sector locations
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and physical inventories for assigned materials
  • Accurately document all material movements and shipments to production areas

Material Flow & Production Support:
  • Follow daily picking instructions and deliver materials to designated production areas
  • Manually place materials in specified locations and return unused materials to stock
  • Transfer materials between warehouses and storage locations as needed
  • Load and unload materials from trailers and trucks
  • Coordinate material availability to support uninterrupted production flow

Equipment & Systems Operation:
  • Operate tools and equipment essential to the job, including but not limited to:

    • Forklifts (sit-down and stand-up)
    • Hand jacks
    • Cranes and lifting devices
    • Scales, loading docks, and data collection equipment
    • Computers, calculators, radios, and copy machines

  • Perform daily equipment safety and maintenance checks, including fluid level inspections
  • Complete required equipment checklists accurately and on time
  • Use computer systems to access information and process paperwork efficiently

Safety, Quality & Teamwork:
  • Perform all tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, and accurate manner in accordance with company policies
  • Ensure the safety of others working near moving vehicles and material handling equipment
  • Contribute to a positive team environment focused on producing a quality product
  • Maintain dependable attendance and work scheduled hours as assigned
  • Support mandatory overtime as required
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety rules
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs

What You Bring -
Education & Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (based on education and work experience)
  • Forklift and crane certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid driver's license

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and measuring
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort using computers and digital systems to access information and complete documentation
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
