WESTPORT AXLE CO, a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. is a leading transportation and third-party logistics provider (3PL) that offers a broad scope of services throughout the entire supply chain. Westport's experienced management team, with its state-of-the-art technology, provides customized logistics solutions to its customers resulting in proven efficiencies and savings.

This operation supports a full range of our value added services. We manage and operate a warehouse facility which encompasses: Picking, Packing, Storage, and Shipping of automotive parts and equipment. This operation ships to various dealers, warehouses, and distribution facilities - as well as direct to the assembly line in a Just-in-Time (JIT) capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing, storage, shipping, and JIT line-side deliveries
  • Lead, train, and develop warehouse associates to meet performance, quality, and safety expectations
  • Ensure on-time and accurate shipment of automotive parts to dealers, warehouses, distribution centers, and assembly lines
  • Monitor labor, productivity, and workflow to meet operational goals
  • Enforce safety standards, company policies, and work procedures
  • Coordinate with management, customers, and carriers to resolve issues and support service requirements
  • Utilize warehouse systems and reports to track inventory accuracy, performance metrics, and order status
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives related to efficiency, quality, and cost control
  • Respond quickly to operational challenges and customer demands in a JIT environment

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment
  • Prior experience in automotive supply chain or JIT operations preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic reporting tools
  • Forklift or powered industrial truck experience preferred
  • Ability to work extended hours or flexible schedules as needed to support operations
