Job description

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards and engineering specifications throughout receiving, production, and final inspection processes. This role supports quality assurance activities through inspection, testing, data analysis, and documentation, and works cross-functionally to identify and resolve quality issues. The position contributes to continuous improvement efforts and ensures compliance with internal procedures and applicable standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections, including visual and dimensional verification of mechanical and electrical assemblies in accordance with engineering requirements

·         Execute inspection processes using established work instructions, checklists, and quality standards

·         Utilize measurement and testing equipment, including calipers, tape measures, multimeters, and test fixtures

·         Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation

·         Collect and analyze quality data to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts

·         Maintain accurate and complete quality records, including inspection reports, checklists, and supporting documentation

·         Ensure all final assemblies include required quality documentation (e.g., inspection records, data files, product images)

·         Identify and document non-conforming materials or products; communicate issues to appropriate personnel and ensure proper disposition

·         Verify that any deviations from requirements are approved prior to product acceptance

·         Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to address and resolve quality-related issues

·         Support the development and improvement of quality control processes and procedures

·         Utilize company systems and software, including Microsoft Office applications, for documentation and reporting

·         Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives

Qualifications

·         High school diploma or equivalent required

·         Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, quality management, or a related field preferred

·         Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control, manufacturing, or a related field preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Knowledge of quality control principles, practices, and inspection methods

·         Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and specifications

·         Proficiency in the use of measurement and testing equipment

·         Basic understanding of data analysis and problem-solving techniques

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
