Job description

Position Title: QA/QC Technician / Supervisor - Food Manufacturing
This is an opportunity to take ownership of quality and food safety for a growing food manufacturing company where your expertise will have a direct impact on products, operations, and customer satisfaction. The QA/QC Technician / Supervisor will serve as a key leader in maintaining and strengthening quality systems, overseeing inspections, supporting audits, training employees, and ensuring compliance with SQF, HACCP, and food safety standards. Beyond day-to-day quality management, this role offers the chance to drive continuous improvement initiatives, influence company-wide best practices, and help shape the future of the quality department. Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 / Year DOE
Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality checks on raw materials, products in production, and finished goods
  • Ensure products meet company standards, customer requirements, and food safety regulations
  • Conduct line inspections, label checks, allergen checks, weight checks, and verify code dates
  • Monitor production to ensure adherence to GMPs, HACCP, SQF, sanitation, and food safety procedures
  • Identify and document quality issues and assist in investigating customer complaints or production problems
  • Complete and maintain all required quality and food safety documentation
  • Assist with decisions regarding product holds, releases, rework, or rejection
  • Help maintain the company's SQF, HACCP, and food safety programs
  • Prepare for and participate in SQF, customer, third-party, and regulatory audits
  • Support mock recalls, traceability exercises, and corrective actions
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to QA staff and production employees on quality-related tasks
  • Train employees on GMPs, food safety, allergen control, sanitation, SQF requirements, and documentation practices
  • Assist with new product development, formula changes, and product improvements
  • Maintain organized quality, food safety, and product development records
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions

Requirements:
  • High school diploma is required
  • 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing, QA/QC, food safety, or product development is required
  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SQF, FSMA, allergen control, and sanitation practices is required
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, and email
  • SQF Practitioner Training/Certification is required at hire or within 90 days
  • PCQI Certification is required at hire or within 90 days
  • HACCP Certification is required at hire or within 90 days
  • GMP and Allergen Control Training is required at hire or within 90 days
  • Internal Auditor Training is required at hire or within 90 days
  • A degree in Food Science or a related field is preferred
