Job description

The Product Engineer will support new product development, influence end-user specifications, and drive product quality and technical documentation. This role focuses on product design, quality control, application engineering, process documentation, and new technology implementation. The position also works directly with end users, Sales, Marketing, and Production to ensure product leadership in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in and support all new product development activities.
  • Lead new product design, product quality control, product improvements, and design enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain product and process documentation.
  • Generate white papers for products and technical topics.
  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing and quality standards; train Supervisors, Leads, and Operators on quality control methods.
  • Document all department processes and ensure team members are trained and cross-trained appropriately.
  • Resolve technical questions from key customer decision makers, specifying engineers, and contractors.
  • Meet with end users to gather product feedback, understand application needs, and support product improvements.
  • Provide technical input for catalogs, installation guides, and related materials.
  • Maintain bills of material, manage item masters, and support engineering change order processes.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop cost control and cost reduction measures.
  • Assist in long- and short-term planning to resolve technical issues impacting daily operations.
  • Prepare specifications, layouts, drawings, and cost estimates for plant equipment and capital projects.
  • Research, plan, and prepare proposals for capital expenditures, equipment procurement, expansions, major maintenance projects, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare engineering drawings for customer submittals and review for accuracy.
  • Conduct product testing and support routine test programs.
  • Support Sales and Marketing with promotions, training, market research, special projects, and sales forecasting for budgeting and S&OP planning.
  • Arrange and conduct Lunch & Learn seminars for current and potential customers.
  • Monitor market activity, competitive landscape, and industry trends.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, product engineering, or industrial engineering.
  • Knowledge of product design, quality processes, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and market decision makers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects and priorities.

Additional Skills (Preferred):
  • Experience with BOM management and engineering change processes.
  • Familiarity with capital project planning or equipment procurement.
  • Ability to deliver presentations and conduct customer training sessions.
