Job description

Location: Coshocton, OH

Cleveland-Cliffshas an immediate opportunity for a Quality Engineer in our Coshocton, OH facility. The ideal candidate will have prior steel industry experience or be open to working in the steel industry, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Manage trials for development of new products and processes

  • Participate in the management of material flow through the disposition of distressed material in accordance with customer and internal standards and business imperatives

  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and other technical resources to drive results

  • Support Sales / Quality Department order entry processes (RFQ, Spec Review, Capability)

  • Monitor quality of Coshocton products and processes by spot checking material, observing processes, and providing feedback to relevant departments

  • Cross train to fill vacancies, special coverage needs, and other assignments as they arise

  • Other duties as assigned based on business needs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or closely related discipline

  • Ability to coordinate and execute a multitude of projects with minimal supervision

  • Data analysis skills necessary for data driven decision making

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical, and Materials Science

  • Experience in steelmaking or metals

  • 5 + years of experience in a similar role
