We are seeking a highly experienced QA / Test Engineer to join our agile quality engineering team. This role consists of a balance of automated and manual testing across a complex, multi-stack application environment. The QA / Test Engineer will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to validate requirements and user stories, identify defects, and promote best-in-class QA practices across the development lifecycle.

Location: Hybrid - Onsite, Arlington, VA ,1 day/week and as needed
Job Type: Full Time
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Equivalent
Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
Clearance: Must hold an Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
 
Responsibilities 
 
•       Work with the functional and development teams to identify, document, and execute test cases
•       Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts/frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing using Selenium, Cypress, Postman/Newman, JUnit/NUnit, and/or Jest
•       Execute manual test cases for new features, edge cases, and scenarios where automation is not practical
•       Perform exploratory testing to uncover usability, performance, and reliability issues
•       Analyze requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create comprehensive test plans and cases
•       Report, track, and verify defects using issue management systems (Azure DevOps and/or Jira)
•       Partner with developers and DevOps engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions)
•       Provide clear test documentation, metrics, and quality reports to stakeholders
•       Advocate for quality engineering practices and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes
•       Develop, implement, and maintain testing best practices to enhance the quality of deliverables
•       Ensure adherence to testing standards and processes across all scrum teams
•       Continuously evaluate and improve testing methodologies to adapt to project needs and technological advancements
•       Manage the maintenance and enhancement of the regression test suite to ensure ongoing product stability
 
 
Requirements

•       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
•       Active DoD Secret Clearance required
•       Minimum 4+ years of experience as a QA / Test Engineer or related quality engineering role
•       Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Postman/Newman, JUnit/NUnit, and/or Jest)
•       Experience testing REST APIs and web applications across .NET, Java, and/or Node/NestJS stacks
•       Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (Azure DevOps and/or Jira)
•       Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions
•       Exposure to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or other enterprise integration testing preferred but not required
•       Exposure to containerized test execution (Docker, Kubernetes)
•       Exposure to observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Application Insights)
•       Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly in evolving technical environments
