Job description

Position Title: Quality Assurance Spec Sr Locations: TX - Dallas, PA - Pittsburgh, OH - Strongsville, AZ - Phoenix, AL - Birmingham Roles and Responsibilities: 1.Test Strategy & Ownership: • Own testing for medium to large features or applications. • Define test approach, scope, and entry/exit criteria for assigned work. • Identify quality risks and escalate proactively. 2.Automation & Technical Contributions: • Design, build, and maintain automated UI and API tests. • Improve automation coverage and reduce manual regression effort. • Troubleshoot automation failures and environmental issues. 3.Mentorship & Team Enablement: • Guide and mentor junior QA engineers. • Review test cases and automation code for quality and effectiveness. • Promote best practices in testing and defect prevention. 4.CI/CD & Reporting: • Ensure automated tests are reliably executed in CI pipelines. • Provide clear quality status, metrics, and risk assessments to stakeholders. 5.Domain & Business Alignment: • Apply domain knowledge to design meaningful test scenarios. • Ensure testing covers real world usage and regulatory considerations. 6.API Testing & Service Virtualization: • Testing of RESTful and SOAP services, including contract validation and negative scenarios. • Implement and promote service virtualization and test stubbing strategies to enable parallel development and early testing. 7.Data, Databases & Test Data Management: • Validate data integrity across systems using Oracle, MongoDB, and related data stores. • Analyze database impacts and downstream effects of application changes. Must Have Technical Skills: 5-8 Years Experience • Strong experience as a QA Engineer or SDET with increasing focus on automation. • Hands on proficiency with: Java, Selenium, Cucumber/Gherkin & API testing (REST/SOAP) • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. • Solid understanding of test strategy, regression planning, and risk based testing. • Experience working with enterprise systems and distributed architectures. • Banking or financial services experience preferred. Flex Skills/Nice to Have: • Proactive problem solver who identifies quality risks early. • Comfortable mentoring junior QA engineers and influencing team practices. • Strong communicator who can clearly articulate defects, risks, and impacts. • Ability to balance hands on testing with strategic quality thinking. • Banking or financial services experience preferred.
