Summary

As the Quality Assurance Engineer I, you support the Quality team in ensuring the quality and reliability of North Atlantic Industries' electronic systems throughout the manufacturing process. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues while developing the technical knowledge and problem-solving skills needed to support production yield, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Support failure analysis for supplier-related issues and assist with implementing supplier corrective actions.
  • Conduct investigations on factory non-conformances, perform root cause analysis with guidance, and assist in ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Support internal audits and assist with external audits related to AS9100/ISO 9001, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a Quality representative for production teams by supporting day-to-day product quality activities.
  • Assist with customer post-delivery issues and support completion of customer RCCA requests.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality data, yield metrics, and defect trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and assist with the resolution of day-to-day nonconformances.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and maintaining quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and quality records.
  • Support activities that improve, maintain, and promote the Quality Management System.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), and must be able to provide appropriate documentation upon hire to verify this status. Please note that some positions involve sensitive customer contracts and require U.S. citizenship as a condition of employment.  

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Quality Control, or a related field within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Fundamental knowledge of electronics, mechanical, and manufacturing concepts.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information.
  • Fundamental knowledge of failure analysis and process-oriented thinking.
  • Ability to prioritize work, learn quickly, and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001), workmanship standards, and AS9100 standards.
  • Skills to support data analytics and knowledge of statistical process control are a plus.
