Position Summary

Perform daily Incoming Inspection/ First Article Inspection preparation of various materials in the Aerospace and Defense industry in accordance with standardized processes, procedures, or methods. Perform Mechanical/Electrical testing on in process/finished product, in accordance with standardized processes, procedures, or methods. Lead the Quality Control Inspection team, as required. Support the Quality Manager, Program Managers, Manufacturing, and other cross functional team members daily, to ensure we are delivering the highest quality products to our customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Provincial and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.
  • Solid understanding of Quality/ Incoming inspection and will be responsible for the tasks associated with this role.
  • May be responsible for mentoring/supervising inspectors within the quality control department.
  • Capable of training others and managing a small team.
  • Incoming material inspection.
  • In process/final inspection of manufactured product per customer and organizations documented specifications (Electrical/Mechanical testing, etc.)
  • Collect, compile, analyze, develop, and report data and information, as required.
  • Maintain organized and accurate physical and electronic records, generate reports, or provide data to support Engineers, Program Managers, and other cross functional team members in their reporting responsibilities.
  • Process Nonconformance Reports (NCM’s). Initial review to ensure clarity and correctness, recording data, taking photos as necessary, notifying (email) the supplier or internal responsible party.
  • Provide support as requested by suppliers or requests from internal departments relating to NCM’s.
  • Work directly with suppliers and or sub-tiers to obtain all required quality documentation and resolve any open issues.
  • Report to the Quality Manager when NCM material dispositions/verification has been satisfied.
  • Regularly Report on the status/activities of the area.
  • Support and assist Quality Manager in the performance of simple to complex assignments, routine QMS tasks, as required (Calibration, Shelf-life, etc.).
  • Create/Prepare/Perform First Article inspections on applicable assemblies and projects IAW AS9102 (AS9100). Will require frequent interactions with customer Supplier Quality Managers (SQM).
  • Utilize schematics, wire diagrams, and mechanical drawings to perform work.
  • Use of hand tools such as measuring equipment, gauges (fixed, micrometers, calipers, rules).
  • Use computer software (such as MS Office as well as other production software) and other technologies to perform work.
  • Responsible for daily clean-up of all assigned work areas and to practice Good Housekeeping skills.
  • Able to use other AS9102 specific software and applications. i.e. Discuss and Net Inspect.
  • Work collectively in a team atmosphere.
  • Being flexible in an ever-changing environment stemmed from customer demands.
  • All Other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Education- High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Experience with electronic manufacturing and ISO9001:2015 or AS9100 Certified Manufacturing preferred as well.
  • Ability to use computers, software (MS Office and other production related programs), and technology.
  • Must be able to work onsite (this is not a remote position), at our facility located in Plaistow NH and be able to, based on business conditions, work overtime.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, schematics, wire diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics, fractions and decimals using direct reading, gauges, rulers, and scales.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. In addition, employee must have good interactive skills and be able to work in a teamwork environment.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work a minimum of 40 hrs. a week.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via email, phone, or in person.

  • Associate's Degree or Technical Degree in Electronics, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Professional quality certifications (such as ASQ CST or ASQ CQI).
  • Preferred Certifications- IPC J-Std, IPC 610 Certified.
