Schedule: Mon to Fri, 6am to 2:30m (occasional OT and weekends)

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a detail-oriented Inspection & Quality Technician to join a leading HVAC manufacturing organization. In this critical role, you'll help safeguard product quality, support operational excellence, and ensure customers receive reliable, high-performing equipment.

What You'll Do
As an Inspection & Quality Technician, you'll serve as an independent quality advocate within Burst House testing operations for air-cooled HVAC products. Your work will directly impact product reliability, customer satisfaction, and manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform independent audits and inspections of Burst House testing operations, including helium and pressure-based leak testing.
  • Verify proper execution of leak checks, burst tests, and post-test inspections according to approved work instructions, control plans, and engineering specifications.
  • Conduct two-layer verification of critical quality checks by:
  • Confirming operators complete required inspections and tests correctly.
  • Validating accurate recording of test results, pass/fail dispositions, and rework actions.
  • Audit testing area readiness, including equipment condition, calibration status, safety interlocks, fixtures, and adherence to standardized work practices.
  • Identify, document, and escalate non-conformances, process deviations, and test escapes within the quality management system.
  • Verify traceability and data integrity, including unit identification, test parameters, results, and retest requirements.
  • Capture and upload traceability photos and audit evidence for audited units.
  • Monitor and verify containment activities related to leak failures, burst test failures, and supplier component issues.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to:
  • Communicate audit findings.
  • Support root cause investigations.
  • Assist with corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track the effectiveness of quality improvements.
  • Report daily test pass/fail results, audit findings, and quality trends.
  • Support ISO 9001 quality system requirements and internal audit standards.
  • Perform component and feature verification, including fittings, welds, joints, labels, caps, and other product characteristics.
  • Assist with additional quality-related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality control, inspection, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and non-conformities.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 35 pounds repeatedly and stand or walk for most of the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a technical or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or other technical environments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using Oracle and/or SAP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001.
