SUMMARY:

This position as an Air Quality Technician is one of full-time employment type. Employee will participate in Air Monitoring activities such as obtaining permits and conducting facility inspections. Employee will also contribute to construction and maintenance of monitoring systems and ensuring accurate documentation of field activities. Assignments will be largely field based and will involve driving to various client sites. This position is considered on-call and the employee must be able to respond to calls and work overtime as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Three years’ experience in an industrial setting OR a two-year technical degree, preferred.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license with an insurable driving record.
  • TWIC Card.
  • Knowledge of common engineering concepts, practices, standards, and procedures.
  • Ability to read, interpret, create, and assemble from drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and sketches.
  • Strong electro/mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills including the ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word, and other technical programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive to and in client facilities.
  • Obtain permits at client facilities.
  • Complete JSA’s and toolbox meetings.
  • Conduct facility inspections/audits/sampling.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of air monitoring equipment.
  • Assist with the construction, operation and maintenance of stationary continuous emissions monitoring systems and mobile ambient air monitoring stations.
  • Generate accurate and complete documentation of field activities.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements set forth by Providence and clients of Providence.
  • Responds to company and client calls including during extended hours of evenings, nights, and weekends and work overtime when necessary.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to travel frequently and on short notice, with some overnight travel.
  • Ability to walk long distances.
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds and work at elevated heights.
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain, sometimes for extended periods of time.
