Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensure quality standards for products procured or manufactured are in accordance with customer and/or internal quality requirements. Reports to Quality Manager.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform Quality Inspections as required.
  2. Assist in preparation of PPAPs.
  3. Perform production process audits to verify compliance with requirements.
  4. Perform dock audits.
  5. Generate and post scrap reports, analyze data, and assist in scrap reduction activities.
  6. Responsible for calibration of test equipment and measuring devices throughout the plant.
  7. Recommend disposition of defective material.
  8. Perform receiving inspection functions as required.
  9. Recommend and coordinate appropriate corrective action to quality related problems.
  10. Prepare Certificates of Conformance for outgoing product, as required.
  11. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

DESIRED SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Verbal and written communications skills.
  2. Ability to interpret customer quality requirements.
  3. Experienced with metal fabrication and/or manufacturing is a plus.
  4. Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
  5. Basic Microsoft Office Skills.
  6. Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, and calipers.
  7. Understanding of Production Parts Approval Process.
  8. Understanding of manufacturing capabilities.
