Shift Lead Security Officer

Full Time   

Varying Shifts     

Position Summary:

The Shift Lead oversees daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring staff performance, safety, and service meet company standards. This on-site leader guides and supports team members, serves as the link between staff and management, and helps coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and maintain smooth, efficient shift operations in fast-paced environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eligible for employment by Security Engineers' Indiana-licensed security guard agency.
  • Valid driver's license and approved MVR when driving duties are required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Duties and Responsibilities:

Patrol & Surveillance• Conduct walking and vehicle patrols to identify and report safety concerns• Monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials• Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activity

Incident Response & Reporting• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol• Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents• Perform routine security tasks (e.g., locking/unlocking doors)

Customer Service & Policy Enforcement• Assist visitors and employees professionally• Enforce site-specific Post Orders and security protocols• Ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking)

Supervisory Responsibilities

Team Oversight & Support

  • Guide and support junior officers
  • Ensure protocol and customer service standards are met
  • Assist with scheduling and shift coverage

Physical Requirements (subject to change based on client-specific needs)

  • Stand/sit for at least 1 hour without break
  • Walk a minimum of ½ mile without stopping
  • Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping

Education & Experience:

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years verifiable Military, Law Enforcement or Security Experience

Preferred:

  • 3+ years verifiable Military, Law Enforcement or Security Experience
  • 1+ years of verifiable Supervisory experience
