Job description

Responsibilities: This position (see qualifications below) will assist the Zoo’s Food Service department as needed with any and all responsibilities related to the food service department. Consistently positive interaction with the Zoo’s visitors is the most important part of the position. Proper zoo uniform standards are essential. Additional duties may include but not limited to: the responsible distribution of alcohol, working a cash register, taking orders, stocking, delivering, organizing the food and beverage storage areas, assisting with the preparation of food, maintaining the cleanliness of the unit, working the front line, and assisting the manager on any other assigned tasks. The starting rate for this position is $16.00 per hour, but may increase based on availability and experience.

Qualifications: This position requires that ONE the following criteria be met: 1) Weekday availability (three or more days), March – October; 2) Year-round availability of any three or more days per week; 3) The candidates age is 21 or older with the ability to serve alcohol. If you do not meet ONE of these criteria, please refer to the standard “Food Service, Multiple Outlets” posting. Our team is a dedicated, hardworking group, who has fun and enjoys being part of one the city’s most iconic and amazing institutions. While we love prior customer service experience in our applicants, we also know not everyone has it, and that is okay. You need to be able to take direction from leaders, and also work independently when applicable. Flexible work hours are a big plus. Work schedules can include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. All candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal background check.
