Pay Scale: Pay is based off education, experience, and certification level. Levels are;
Peer Support/Para Professional: $17/hr-19/hr.
AP:$19/hr-21/hr.
QP: $23.07/hr. - $24.04/hr.
Available Shifts: 8am-8pm and 8pm-8am.
Summary: Responsible for providing support and care to meet the physical and psychological needs of consumers through providing direct and indirect care. BHUC is a 24-hour behavioral health urgent care service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides supervision and monitoring of each consumer. Assist with and model appropriate daily living skills.
  • Document any reported or observed symptoms of consumers and report to the team.
  • Participate in Shift Report
  • Provide transportation
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Special Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills and belief in consumer's ability to recover. Minimal supervision regarding use of time, able to prioritize work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively with professionals and clients/families. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations. A desire to work with individuals with severe mental illness and substance abuse issues.
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education and/or Experience:
Tech I:
  • Para Professional services are delivered by staff who have the life experience of being diagnosed with a serious mental illness or substance addiction problem, and are currently in recovery, stable, and living without relapses. The Paraprofessional has a high school diploma, or GED and at least five years of life experience with a serious mental illness or substance addiction.
  • Peer Support - Requires Peer Support Certification.
  • AP -Bachelor's degree in the field with no experience.

Tech II:
  • QP- requires bachelor's degree in social work, Counseling or another Human Services field. Qualified Professional (QP) required.
