What You'll Do
As a Behavioral Specialist, you'll provide direct support and skill-building services in real-world settings:
Support Youth and Families
  • Deliver one-on-one coaching, behavior support, and psychoeducation
  • Teach daily living, coping, and communication skills
  • Provide parenting support and guidance to caregivers
  • Assist during crisis situations using safe, effective interventions

Lead Care Planning & Progress Tracking
  • Facilitate Child and Family Team meetings
  • Develop and monitor person-centered plans focused on strengths and goals
  • Track progress and adjust supports to meet changing needs

Collaborate with a Clinical Team
  • Work closely with ACTT team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and case discussions
  • Support families with program tools and technology (including telehealth setup)

Engage in Community-Based Work
  • Meet clients and families in homes, schools, and community settings
  • Transport clients as needed to support skill-building and activities
  • Help connect families with community resources and supports

What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Professional (QP) status required:
  • MA + 1 year experience, OR
  • BA + 2 years experience, OR
  • Licensed/Provisionally Licensed professional
  • Experience working with children with serious emotional or behavioral needs
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license and ability to travel in the community

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Must qualify as a QP.
  • QP qualifications: MA in Human Services and has 1 year experience with population - OR - BA in Human Services and has 2 years of experience with population - OR - Licensed or Provisionally Licensed Professional Provider in the field of population served.
  • Must have one year's experience working with children with serious emotional disturbance.
  • Requires effective communication, decision making, analytical, interpersonal, leadership and professionalism skills and abilities.
  • Must have basic computer and math skills.
  • Must have a valid North Carolina's Driver's License.
  • Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal, HCPR and driving checks.
  • Must submit personal car insurance and registration information if transporting clients in own personal vehicle.
