Quality Control (QC) Microbiology AnalystAbout the Role

We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Microbiology Analyst to join a growing quality team supporting cGMP manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for performing routine microbiological and molecular testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PCR-based testing, microbiological assays, and quality control laboratory practices within a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform PCR and qPCR testing in accordance with approved methods and procedures.
  • Conduct microbiological assays on in-process, stability, and finished product samples.
  • Perform testing of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods for product release.
  • Execute environmental monitoring activities and support contamination control programs.
  • Review and verify QC data for compliance with specifications, SOPs, and cGMP requirements.
  • Analyze, calculate, and interpret test results.
  • Initiate and support laboratory investigations, deviations, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and documentation.
  • Support laboratory operations including glassware preparation, autoclaving, and general lab maintenance.
  • Adhere to cGMP regulations, safety standards, and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related Life Sciences field with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • Master's degree in a related scientific discipline with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience performing QC bioassays with a strong emphasis on PCR/qPCR techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with microbiological testing, biological assays, or environmental monitoring.
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations and quality control laboratory practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or biologics manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with mammalian cell culture techniques.
  • Experience supporting product release testing and stability programs.
  • Ability to investigate laboratory deviations and troubleshoot testing issues.

Schedule

This position will start off Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm for the first 3 months of training and then will transition to either a Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday.

Location

This position will primarily be located in Cambridge, MA but the individual would need reliable transportation to get to Burlington, MA location for occasional coverage.
