About the Role:

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in quality assurance, inspection, testing, and compliance activities within a manufacturing environment. The position focuses on sample collection, quality inspections, documentation, and adherence to quality control procedures to maintain product integrity, food safety, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming raw material inspections and quality control testing to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
  • Conduct in-process and finished product inspections to verify quality, safety, and consistency requirements
  • Collect, label, and manage samples for laboratory testing and analysis
  • Execute testing and sampling procedures in accordance with SOPs, GMP, HACCP, and quality assurance protocols
  • Document inspection and testing results, maintain accurate quality records, and update quality management systems
  • Identify non-conforming materials or products, initiate corrective actions, and support root cause investigations
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, procurement, and quality teams to resolve quality concerns
  • Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensure proper handling and storage practices
  • Support internal audits, compliance inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, food safety requirements, and quality standards

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred
  • Experience in quality control, quality assurance, manufacturing, food production, laboratory, or inspection environments
  • Knowledge of GMP, GFSI, BRC, SQF, HACCP, ISO standards, or other quality management systems
  • Familiarity with sampling techniques, inspection tools, measuring devices, and testing procedures
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and quality issues
  • Proficiency with documentation, data entry, and quality reporting systems
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain compliance requirements
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and quality tracking software

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in food manufacturing, beverage manufacturing, consumer products, pharmaceutical, or related regulated industries
  • Certification in HACCP, PCQI, Food Defense, Six Sigma, or CQI
  • Experience with laboratory testing, analytical equipment, or environmental monitoring programs
  • Knowledge of supplier quality programs and audit processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience supporting corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
