Join the Publix Transportation Systems Development Team as a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer to add to our winning culture and track record of delivering exceptional solutions to our users. This position will plan, coordinate, and execute testing of applications that support Transportation systems. In this role, you will analyze acceptance criteria to create test plans and automated testing frameworks for UI, unit, and integration testing.

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance for backend, platform, or workflow-based systems
  • 4+ years of experience designing and executing test automation strategies for C# applications, including development of automated test frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Selenium or Rest Sharp
  • 4+ years of experience creating and executing manual and automated test cases across APIs, services, and enterprise applications
  • 3+ years of experience using Azure DevOps (or similar tools) for test case management, defect tracking, and CI/CD integration
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring or leading QA engineers
  • Solid experience validating API-driven systems and distributed workflows
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, analysts, and product owners to translate business risk into testable criteria

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with .NET-based test frameworks (e.g., NUnit, xUnit) and/or Python-based testing frameworks
  • Experience validating RESTful APIs and JSON payloads using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or automation libraries
  • Exposure to testing AI-enabled systems (e.g., LLM-powered workflows, OCR, classification, anomaly detection), even at an integration level
  • Experience integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps Pipelines and CI/CD workflows
  • Understanding of logging, monitoring, and observability concepts for validating system health and reliability
  • Familiarity with working in regulated or high-reliability environments (finance, healthcare, etc.)
  • Experience working within Agile / Scrum teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders
