Quality Assurance Specialist
CW Round Rock has a rewarding opportunity for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team!
As our Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, auditing, and improving the organization's Quality Management Systems (QMS) supporting aerospace and nuclear operations and reports to the Director of Quality. You will serve as a qualified Lead Auditor and provides oversight of compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. You will work closely with operations, engineering, procurement, and management to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Maintain and improve quality management system compliant with:

  • NQA-1 / 10 CFR 50 Appendix B

  • ASME Section III

Ensure quality procedures, work instructions, and records are current and effectively implemented. Support management reviews and quality performance reporting and assist in the development and execution of quality objectives and continuous improvement initiatives

Salary Information: $83,800.00 - $110,000.00 annually, plus bonus

Your Challenge:
  • Audit Program Management
    • Serve as Lead Auditor for internal, supplier, and process audits
    • Develop and execute annual audit schedules and audit plans
    • Conduct audits to verify compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications
    • Document audit findings and verify corrective action implementation and effectiveness
    • Coordinate external audits performed by customers, registrars, regulatory agencies, and nuclear oversight organizations

  • Nuclear and Aerospace Quality Assurance Oversight
    • Support implementation and maintenance of the NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program
    • Verify compliance with 10 CFR 21 reporting and evaluation requirements
    • Support commercial grade dedication (CGD) activities, supplier qualification, and source surveillance as required
    • Ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements and customer quality clauses

  • Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)
    • Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies
    • Facilitate corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes
    • Track nonconformance trends and identify improvement opportunities
    • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and closure of quality issues

  • Supplier Quality
    • Perform supplier qualification and surveillance activities
    • Conduct supplier audits and assessments, such as Method 2 Commercial Grade Surveys
    • Monitor supplier performance metrics and corrective actions
    • Support procurement in evaluating supplier quality risks

  • Training and Compliance
    • Provide quality system training to employees
    • Promote a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
    • Maintain qualification records for auditors
    • Stay current with industry regulations, standards, and best practices

What You Bring:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of quality assurance experience in aerospace, nuclear, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience conducting internal and supplier audits
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, codes, and standards

Preferred
  • Qualified Lead Auditor NQA-1 and / or working knowledge of NQA-1 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B requirements
  • Qualified Lead Auditor AS9100 / ISO 9001 and / or working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Experience with 10 CFR Part 21 evaluations and reporting
  • Experience supporting NRC, DOE, aerospace, or defense customers
  • Familiarity with ERP and electronic quality management systems

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 40% for supplier audits, customer audits, and quality oversight activities
  • Ability to access manufacturing and warehouse environments
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use computer systems for extended periods
