Job description

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and working under general supervision, the Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for supporting site-level quality operations at the Fountain Inn manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role that oversees daily inspection activities, provides direction to QA Inspectors, and ensures compliance with established quality, safety, and manufacturing standards. The QA Lead partners closely with the QA Supervisor and cross-functional teams to maintain product integrity, documentation accuracy, and workforce readiness in a production environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and technical support to Quality Assurance Inspectors on the production floor
  • Assign and prioritize inspection tasks to support manufacturing schedules and delivery commitments
  • Perform hands-on inspections and quality checks on incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products
  • Execute and document inspections, tests, and verification activities in accordance with quality procedures
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure material and product conformance
  • Verify and reinforce compliance with 5S, standard work, and site safety requirements
  • Train and mentor QA Inspectors on inspection techniques, documentation accuracy, and quality expectations
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality plans, procedures, and work instructions
  • Maintain accurate quality records, inspection logs, and reports in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in hiring activities including resume review, interviews, and candidate recommendations
  • Address routine personnel issues within the QA team and escalate more complex matters to management as appropriate
  • Assess training needs of QA staff and coordinate or deliver required instruction
  • Ensure all quality activities are performed in a safe manner and in compliance with established operating procedures
  • Generate quality metrics, inspection summaries, and reports for management and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the role as assigned

Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma with a minimum of three (3) years of related quality or manufacturing experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating in a team-based environment
  • Comfortable working on the production floor and supporting hands-on inspection activities

Preferred
  • Technical training, trade certification, or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Prior experience in a lead, senior, or informal leadership role
  • Experience with electronics or electromechanical assemblies
