Job description

At Side, we work alongside some of the world's leading developers and innovators to create immersive interactive experiences that combine cutting-edge technology with exceptional user engagement.

This project is focused on the development of a next-generation first-person VR flight simulation experience built in Unreal Engine 5. Combining realistic simulation systems, immersive environments, and intuitive interactions, the project aims to deliver highly authentic aviation experiences that place users at the centre of complex real-world scenarios. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll help shape virtual environments, prototype interactions, and refine user experiences that balance realism, usability, and immersion. This is an opportunity to contribute to a sophisticated simulation project that pushes the boundaries of real-time technology and interactive design.

We're looking for a Senior Unreal Engine Engineer with deep expertise across gameplay systems, animation, object interactions, physics, UI, C++, and Blueprint development to help drive the technical delivery of an immersive VR flight simulation project.

As these are project-based opportunities, positions may be amended, postponed, or withdrawn as a result of changing client requirements and project priorities.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Senior Unreal Engine Engineer, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality technical solutions across multiple areas of game development.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Unreal Engine 5, C++, and Blueprint scripting, with the ability to architect, develop, and maintain scalable gameplay and game systems.
  • Experience developing across gameplay, player interactions, animation systems, UI integration, and core game functionality within a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of physics systems and simulation principles, with the ability to develop and refine mechanics that support realistic and engaging player experiences.
  • Experience integrating and supporting game assets, interactive objects, and technical content pipelines while ensuring performance, stability, and maintainability.
  • Advanced debugging, profiling, and optimisation skills, with a proven ability to identify bottlenecks and deliver performant solutions across complex projects.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor other engineers, and contribute to technical best practices, architectural decisions, and development planning.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with designers, artists, technical artists, and production teams to achieve project goals.
Nice to Have
  • Experience developing VR titles in Unreal Engine.
  • Experience working on first-person experiences, vehicle gameplay, simulation titles, or flight simulation projects.
  • Familiarity with networking and multiplayer systems.
  • Experience working directly with external clients and stakeholders.
  • Competitive Salary.
  • Dynamic, multicultural and fun environment.
  • You will be working for the world's leading provider of game services.
  • We empower our people and offer regular progression opportunities to ensure our employees flourish.
