We are looking to add a Quality Assurance Associate to our team on 2nd shift. In this position, you will work closely on an integrated team of CesiumAstro managers, engineers, and other cross-functional personnel. You will be responsible for programming and using inspection/analysis equipment, handling nonconformances and corrective actions, calibration and metrology of equipment, as well as performing inspections on electronic assemblies and finished high reliability products in compliance with CesiumAstro Quality Management System, international standards, and regulatory requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute quality control processes per purchased product, manufacturing operations, and customer quality requirements.
  • Inspect parts, assemblies, and finished products utilizing necessary tools and equipment in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and drawings.
  • Perform measurements using calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, and CMM/VMM equipment.
  • Document inspection activities using electronic systems, written logs, and labels.
  • Assist with the control and disposition of non-conforming material (MRB).
  • Drive scheduling of day-to-day quality activities and ensure timely and accurate turnaround of inspection and quality processes.
  • Program, maintain, and utilize automated inspection equipment such as CMMs, inspection arms, XRF systems, X-Ray equipment, and automated visual inspection systems.
  • Perform calibration of equipment and tools used in Quality, Production, and Test activities.
  • Create, document, and update quality processes related to inspection, measurement system analysis (MSA), calibration, and data analysis.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of inspection methods, inspection plans, internal quality procedures, and quality processes.
  • Drive resolution of internal and external nonconformances utilizing root cause analysis, corrective action, and 8D methodologies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Conduct data analysis and department metrics reporting to support quality objectives and operational decision-making.
  • Assist in the resolution of audit findings, observations, and recommendations resulting from internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Perform other quality control duties and special projects as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing quality, metrology, and failure analysis.
  • Associate degree in a technical field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in the aerospace, electronics, or defense industry.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), metrology arms, Keyence systems, or similar inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Experience with calibration systems and metrology practices preferred.
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Proficiency reading engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, specifications, and detailed work instructions.
  • Experience with microscopic visual inspection.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Strong analytical, written, verbal, and digital communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments such as aerospace, defense, automotive, or medical device industries.
  • J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
