Job description

Software Development Engineer (C++ / Qt)
Eliassen Group is seeking Software Development Engineers to join an established and growing Agile development team supporting secure, mission-focused software initiatives. This team is currently expanding and is looking for junior to mid-level developers who are eager to grow within a collaborative environment alongside highly experienced senior engineers.
The ideal candidate will have strong C++ development skills, recent experience with Qt, and experience developing within Linux environments. Candidates will contribute to the design, development, integration, and testing of cross-platform applications while working closely with software engineers, UI/UX developers, system engineers, and QA teams in an Agile Scrum environment.
The candidate will join a team of UI/UX engineers, software engineers, systems engineers, information assurance engineers, and QA professionals to support the development and modernization of secure software solutions. This position requires someone who is collaborative, proactive, and passionate about building high-quality, maintainable software within an Agile development environment. Location: Onsite San Diego, CA
Duration: Long-term consulting
Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Due to federal security contract requirements, applicants must be United States Citizens and possess a current/active Secret DoD security clearance. Experience Level
• Targeting junior to mid-level developers
• Approximately 1–3 years of professional experience preferred
• Candidates with lighter Qt experience are encouraged to apply if they have strong C++ fundamentals and Linux experience
• Strong C++ developers interested in learning and growing their Qt experience will also be considered
Required Qualifications
• Current/active Secret DoD security clearance
• BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Strong hands-on experience with C++ software development
• Recent experience working with Qt or strong interest in learning Qt
• Experience developing in Linux/Unix environments
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Networking or network processing experience
• Exposure to UI/UX development or modern interface design
• Experience with Git, GitLab, or other software configuration management tools
• Experience with CMake and Bash scripting
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, or test-driven development concepts
• Experience with Docker, APIs, or containerized environments
• Experience with Python, C, or Java is a plus

• Team currently includes several highly experienced senior developers

• Qt training and licensing resources are already available
