Job description

Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the League's 27th club in January 2019. Austin FC officially began competing in MLS in April 2021, and in the 2025 season qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs while also reaching and hosting the final of the U.S. Open Cup. Austin FC plays its home matches at Q2 Stadium, a 100% privately financed, state-of-the-art stadium which earned certification as a zero-waste venue in 2024. Austin FC sold out all 88 MLS home matches it played at Q2 Stadium during its first five season in the league, including three home MLS Cup Playoff matches.
Austin FC is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Stadium Operations who will provide leadership, oversight and ensure execution of operations, including but not limited to, overseeing all stadium operations, safety and security, events, maintenance and repairs, grounds, elevating the customer service and match day experience, and driving revenue for both Q2 Stadium and St. David's Performance Center. The position will also be a strategic partner and assist in providing direction to food and beverage partner, facility vendors, and the point of contact in the emergency response plan.
This position is based in Austin, TX and the role will be in-person based out of Q2 Stadium.

You Will:
• Oversee facility and event operations at Q2 Stadium and St. David's Performance Center including leading the planning and execution of large- and small-scale events; and
• With support from stadium operations department, coordinate, plan and facilitate event logistics based on client and event needs; and
• Oversee third-party event business at Q2 Stadium and St. David's Performance Center; including lead generation, contracting, and execution of all full stadium events and private rentals; and
• Manage and develop staff across Operations and Grounds departments; and
• Manage relationship with the Club's Food and Beverage partner and their operations with Q2 Stadium; and
• Develop, manage and track the annual operating budget for Operations and Grounds departments based on facility and Club objectives; and
• Identify cost effective solutions in accordance with Club and budgetary restrictions; and
• Obtain, analyze and manage vendor quotes and contracts to make cost effective and efficient financial decisions based on client and facility needs in accordance with the overall operations budget; and
• Work closely with all departments and clients to ensure customer demands are met efficiently and effectively; and
• Act as the liaison between Club and League as well as other promoters to ensure successful execution of events; and
• Ensure adherence to MLS rules and regulations as it pertains to event operations, match day experience, safety and security, and all other requests from the League; and
• Maintain working relationships with promoters, League representatives, city officials, first responders, stadium partners, and outside stakeholders that are key contributors to the success of Q2 Stadium operations; and
• With assistance from Safety and Security staff, ensure emergency procedures are in place and all relevant personnel are briefed; and
• Oversee parking operations for all stadium events, including the management of strategic offsite parking alliances. Work closely with and develop partnerships with local area businesses, mobile app providers, and TNC's; and
• Lead stadium's sustainability efforts and support a team that ensures continuous certification is met and development of policies that promote continuous improvement in these efforts; and
• Be an active contributor in a leadership team to develop and execute short- and long-term Club strategies.
You Have:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, preferable in sports and entertainment
• Experience with TV and radio broadcast or facility maintenance a plus
• Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams and having impactful influence in a high-performance environment with a proven record of successful execution
• Proven ability to manage external partners and managing relationships to implement initiatives in stadium environment including defining scope, holding vendors accountable, and integrating their work into internal systems
• Strong understanding of processes in a revenue-driven environment
• Experience hiring, managing, and developing teams, with the ability to develop talent and grow individual contributors
• Experience operating in high performance environments and building structure, processes, and standards
• English language proficiency is essential and Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus
• Experience in developing and managing budgets, and analyzing costs
• Working knowledge of Fire, Life, Safety, OSHA, and ADA rules and regulations
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Ability to sit, walk and stand for an extended period of time throughout the day and exposed to weather factors
