Position Summary

We are looking for a Director of International Logistics & Compliance who understands this space at an expert level and can own it end-to-end. This role is responsible for export compliance and logistics for commercial and military small arms and NFA-controlled products. You will manage licensing, regulatory adherence and the movement of controlled products across borders, while partnering with freight forwarders, importers, and exporters. This role is additionally responsible for assisting supply chain with the lawful import of small parts essential to manufacturing processes.

You will operate at both a strategic and execution level. This is not a passive compliance role. You need to understand all applicable federal laws pertaining to international commerce including, but not limited to, ITAR, EAR, the Arms Exports Control Act, the Export Administration Act, and all customs rules, regulations, and procedures. You must have experience with all DDTC, BIS, ATF licensing and compliance processes for export.

This is an in-person role. Being in the building, working directly with legal, compliance and leadership, and seeing issues firsthand, is critical to doing this job well. You will be immersed in the fast-paced environment that defines Q.

This position reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer of the Company.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all international compliance activities & logistics
  • Ensure full compliance with federal law pertaining to exports
  • Own the export licensing process from start to finish
  • Coordinate with third-party freight forwarders and international importers and exporters
  • Develop, implement, and enforce internal export compliance policies and procedures
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies pertaining to exports as directed by the Chief Legal Officer
  • Manage export logistics, including documentation, freight coordination, and shipment execution
  • Identify compliance risks early and implement solutions before they become problems
  • Conduct internal audits and maintain audit-ready records at all times
  • Train and support internal teams to ensure compliance standards are understood and followed
  • Partner with legal, operations, sales, and leadership to support international business initiatives without slowing execution
  • Review, understand, and adhere to legal requirements of foreign export destinations
  • Develop sound document management and retention policies

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in firearm exports, international trade, and compliance
  • Deep working knowledge of federal law and licensing process pertaining to exports of firearms
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Must be able to work on-site in Dover, NH and be comfortable around firearms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or scaling export compliance programs
  • Experience with military export contracts

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site in an office and manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, sit, stand, and move between departments as needed
  • Ability to use standard office and computer equipment for extended periods
